Dr. Marty Becker and Mikkel Becker Shannon appear in this month’s issue of Scholastic Parent & Child magazine, answering reader questions in the “Animal House” column. Dr. Becker and Mikkel are the magazine’s new resident pet experts!

Scholastic Parent & Child Magazine delivers focused content for moms of children from birth to 12 years old, helping them celebrate the “joy of family living and learning.” The magazine publishes eight times per year.

On April 15-16, Dr. Marty Becker will be in Scottsdale, AZ, speaking to Eye Care for Animals, a specialty group with 36 associate doctors.

Dr. Marty Becker will be featured in Woman’s Day Magazine, discussing pet peeves: the strange (and sometimes icky) behavior of cats and dogs.
Topics will include:
1. stinky breath [some causes and how to address them]
2. excessive barking
3. constant shedding
4. nipping when they’re petted
5. taking over the bed
6. being constantly underfoot/causing you to trip (cats, especially).

Dr. Marty Becker will be appearing on Good Morning America to discuss pets with disabilities, where he will feature accommodations ranging from wheelchairs to prostheses.

On August 17 and 18, Dr. Becker will be attending the 2010 Pet Healthcare Industry Summit in Portland, OR.

Our own Dr. Marty Becker will be featured in the September issue of National Geographic Kids. The article, “35 Cool Things About Pets”, will be a great resource for kids of any age. If you’re wondering why it’s 35 cool things (and not 10 or 100), it’s because National Geographic Kids is celebrating its 35th anniversary.

Dr. Becker will be giving the keynote address at the Village Veterinary Group’s Annual Congress, outside of London, England

Dr. Marty Becker will be delivering the keynote address, as well as other talks, at the 2010 CanWest Veterinary Conference to be held in Victoria, B.C., Canada October 4-5, 2010.

The conference is jointly hosted by the B.C. Veterinary Medical Association (BCVMA) and the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA). The conference expects over 600 registrants, and will also feature a trade show, along with continuing education sessions.

Our own Dr. Marty Becker will be delivering the keynote address at the Wild West Veterinary Conference in Reno, Nevada.

The Wild West Veterinary Conference attracts the best speakers in veterinary medicine and provides an outstanding educational experience for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, practice managers, office staff and students.

Dr. Becker will be speaking at the CVC West in San Diego. On Saturday, November 6 he’ll speak in the Practice Managment Block and on Sunday evening, November 7, will be giving a special presentation on the future of veterinary medicine.

Over 15,000 attendees are expected at The North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando, FL. Dr. Marty Becker will be talking to veterinarians and their team members about how to provide better customer service, celebrate the human-animal bond, and make every client and patient feel like number one!

Dr. Marty Becker will give the keynote address at the combined American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) meeting in Toronto, Canada. This meeting will be held from May 24-27, 2011.
