It’s another Pet Connection connection at PetHobbyist.com’s 12th Annual Chat Month!

On Friday, February 12, at 9 PM Eastern/6 PM Pacific, our own Dr. Marty Becker, also the resident veterinarian on “The Dr. Oz Show” and “Good Morning America,” will be discussing “The Other End of the Stethoscope: How to communicate with your pet’s veterinarian.”

Co-author of the fastest-selling pet book of all time, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul, Dr. Becker has written or co-written dozens of other books and is, along with our Gina Spadafori, a nationally syndicated pet columnist and blogger right here at PetConnection.com.

A veterinarian for 30 years and a lifelong animal lover, Dr. Becker’s going to share with you the secrets behind how to make sure your vet understands your questions and comments, and give you insider tips on how to make sure your vet is really listening to you.

He’ll be interviewed by Christie Keith via streaming audio, and you’ll be able to comment and ask questions in a text-based chat room.

To join the chat: Registered users of PetHobbyist.com log in here; if you’re not registered, log in as a guest here and select “Auditorium” from the drop down menu!

And that’s not all… On Saturday, Christie will interview Pet Connection’s Liz Palika on “Disaster Preparedness for ALL Pets” and Gina Spadafori on “The Backyard Chicken Revolution.”

Then on Sunday, Donna Reynolds and Tim Racer from BAD RAP will speak with Christie about “Pit bull rescue in the post-Vick era.” You can read more information and see the full schedule here.

  2. I have an idea, Gina.

Why don’t we clone the writers on this blog so that we can have more animal lovers around.

Also, when I received my prize package from Dr. Marty Becker, I was overwhelmed, to put it mildly. Thanks from the bottom and top of my heart, Dr. Marty!

Lastly, I don’t talk to my vet correctly, I guess, because he called me fiesty and I ought to learn how to behave and be meek. I was hurt to the very core of my surface, but I really like him, anyway. :)

  3. I’m so glad you got your prize! I was a little slow to get the addresses to Dr. B, and when I did he was on the road. But once he got home, he got those books sent out PDQ.

Congratulations to YOU for your daughter, the brilliant and pioneering Dr. Narda, being named one of the 100 Best and Brightest.

You well know we here more than agree with that assessment!

  4. Gina and Dr. Marty, you both write books with such an enornous knowledge about animals.
Also, the books are so readable, educational (about animals), funny, and engaging.

I am so glad that I came across the Pet Connection Blog (PCB).

I now know that there are so many animal lovers like me in the world and I feel a little less odd having a super soft spot in my heart for all animals.

Gina, I have to say, I was overwhelmed when I received the SIGNED books with Dr. Becker’s gracious and kind words accompanying his signature. Purr, purr, purr, purr, purring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder he is so liked and loved in the animal lover’s world.
