Australian army dog found after a year in Afghanistan

The handler of an army-trained labrador that went missing for more than a year says he never gave up hope for the lost dog.
The black Labrador called Sabi went missing in action in southern Afghanistan, during the battle in which the SAS trooper Mark Donaldson won the Victoria Cross.

Good for Sabi. The lab looks hearty and tough. I’m glad she made it. She truly must be a special dog.

This is a very touching story. Hopefully there are no other lost dogs, and if so they make it back home like here.

Wow is right. What a happy ending. How wonderful, too, that she retained the knowledge of her training so well that when an unfamiliar US soldier gave her a command he thought she should recognize, she did.
Dogs are amazing. Three cheers for Sabi, and here’s hoping they ALL come home again.
