McKenzie’s short but rocky road back to health

The rocks in her G-I tract are moving through as hoped.
The rocks in her head … I’m still thinking about. She’s a quirky, sensitive and obsessive girl, always has been, and so are her sisters. They’re accomplished (well, her sisters are … McKenzie is “blessed” with a slacker mom) in large part because they are so incredibly tuned in to their owners.
On the right are yesterday’s rads, with the rocks circled. On the left, you can see the rocks are moving into place to leave her in the way we’d prefer — no scope, no surgery.
Our darling primary-care veterinarian, Dr. Bill Porte, must now think he knows the pictures of McKutie’s insides as well as he knows those of his own family!

That’s very good news.
I happen to like obsessive, slightly neurotic dogs, especially retrievers.

I have a Bassett Hound who stopped eating and almost died because we moved and I kept him and his BFF Sabbath to watch the house for 2 days. We found him underneath the house crying. I thought the way I did it would be less stressful. Just move there House. Kennel attached to house with beds in it.

Glad to hear the rocks are making steady progress in the correct direction.

Good news! We’ll be waiting for the best news—that they are out.

Glad things are on their way out! Is that Dr. Porte who started Porte vet clinic in Campbell?

Good grief. Dogs! Isn’t it wonderful to have a vet you love? God knows we need them. Good luck to McKenzie.

… and just how long have you been sitting on that pun?
Way to go, McKenzie. Always better out than in.

That’s some good news to hear - my dearly departed Nicki the chesapeake/mix once ate an entire package of boneless chicken breasts polished off with a bottle of baby oil….then she parked herself on the bed….oh yeah it’s quite a memory…

I gotta tell you, I feel sorry for the girl. What she has been passing simply cannot feel good on the way out.

Oh darn, I was hoping to read this morning that everything had passed…how long does it normally take? I hope the rocks dont tear anything up on the way out…all I know is I would be a basket-case while waiting…

Good luck, Gina and McKenzie - I know this is a nail-biter, but I am sure everything will turn our just fine. They never seem to learn from this - you would think something in her doggy brain would say “Sheesh, these sure hurt coming out…maybe I shouldn’t eat them again” But no, it will just be “YUM! ROCKS!” next time.
Good luck!
