It makes me feel so good when a person who owns both cats and dogs considers how BOTH species feel. It is usually the cat that gets ignored--but not in this case.

I am glad the family got the right dog for them, also.

Wonderful story--enjoyed reading the whole posting.

Ohm....that's the sound of peace, love, and happiness that has returned to the "Fearing Family Pack!" ;-)

Often the right thing is not the easiest. Kennedy's vote of companionship seems to answer any residual question about sharing Griffith with another family. It sounds like Yoda needs lots of play dates to keep him youthful.

I really love the fact that the needs of the family cat counted. I've seen a lot of situations where the family have the dog or dogs they want and the cat just has to deal with it as best they can, no matter how imposed on or harassed they are.

I Jennifer Fearing! For putting the needs of her resident pet first, for making the hard decision to move Grif on to the family he was maybe meant for, and mostly for sharing this story with all of us.
You're a truly great person Ms. Fearing, and you show the true heart of HSUS in your actions.
Bravo!
