I’ll be writing about this later, but the bottom line is that Heather’s time on this earth can definitely be measured in months, not years, and that’s if we’re lucky.

We’re actively managing pain and working on keeping her as happy and active as possible, using traditional and complementary care.

So … it’s not the best news, but it’s not awful, either. She’s engaged and interested in her life. It’s not “time.”

Last night I loved my brother’s comment on dealing with aging pets. “Well, this isn’t your first rodeo.”

No, it’s not. But the option to not losing pets is not having pets.

And that’s not an option. Never has been, never will be.
