Atrocity? Grow up, Tristan. If you think that’s an atrocity, you have no idea of the definition of the word.

Darfur is an atrocity. The Holocaust was an atrocity. This is … a little silly, at worst.

As for the money spent … you could say that about just about anything … cars, houses, electronics, vacations. And so what?

Horrible, I couldn’t even get past the third atrocity. The money spend on this would help shelter animals in abundance.

You’ve seen WHY PAINT CATS? What’s on display there is every bit as astonishing as the above—and I would think cats wouldn’t suffer fools the way dogs generally do. Still, the “aesthetic theory” behind WHY PAINT CATS is a send-up of the first order.

At least these dogs are being exhibited in the proper arena (grooming competition) with no pretense about what’s being shown. Wigs and dyes and enough hairspray to choke an elephant and phenomenal grooming skills are at least as essential in the AKC breed ring and are similarly employed to create an illusion - the illusion of a sound, healthy animal that should be bred. Hah!

Yes - poodles really are amazing dogs, and not just because they (have to) put up with all kinds of crazy grooming talents (including mine, which my old groomer likened to using a Lawn Boy to accomplish the deed). Ah, I own a Standard Poodle as a service dog and he would love the attention he would get if he looked like that.

They’re not hurting the dogs and yes it is a bit silly, but so are a lot of things we do with our dogs.

Oh dear. Some people do have way tooo much time on their hands as well as access to dyes, clippers and scissors. Funny, this post isn’t getting any of the attention given to the one below it, yet I find this one far more disturbing. While I realize the dyes are water based and wash out, the outre hair cuts are then shaved off, and the whole purpose is to show off the groomer’s skill, it still offends my sensibilities.
