My Aunt & Uncle lived in the Mojave desert and had a small rescue for the native tortoises. They wound up with an older male who didn't settle in with the rest, so gave him to my younger brother. I learned a lot about them, such interesting animals. I wish I had photos of our 12 week old kitten riding on the back of the tortoise and reaching over to steal his romaine and tomatoes.
