I took them all outside and then went  back in the house for I swear not three minutes. Came out, and … this.

Yes, it’s crazy that I went back inside again to get the camera. But really, do sane people own water dogs or raise puppies?

  1. Oh, Gina. This is TOO funny. I would have ran in for the camera, too. Tinker cannot stay out of the water either. I can’t take her to the beach for fetch on the sand in the winter unless there’s a wall of ice and snow to help her forget there’s a lake over there.

  2. Oh that is a CLASSIC puppy look. “What? Mud? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Glad you went back for the camera!

  3. Is this dog trying to be brown instead of black?

  4. For my her, if it’s hot (which means above 50 degrees for her) and mud is accessible, she’s going in it. I’ve since learned to set up a wading pool as a compromise.

Usually, I have to hose her off several times a week, a task that is complicated by an unusual trait that she has.

She’s a very light gold with very dark skin, so whenever she gets a little wet, the skin and fur produce this weird optical illusion that she’s covered in mud.

This illusion also makes her rather hard to clean, because you think that she’s still got dirt on her.

  6. It will be a sad day when she loses her fuzzy puppy head. Great shot!

  7. Just to clarify, I didn’t mean “lose her head” I just meant when her fur grows out. Didn’t want anyone to think I was making some weird threat. ;O)

  8. You know, I didn’t even think of it that way until you pointed it out . . . . .

  9. Well I figured Gina had gotten enough threats lately (re: puppy mill protest) that I should explain what I meant… :O)

  10. As long as it’s just mud!! Too cute, Faith - as usual!

  11. Some say curiosity is one sign of canine intelligence and that puppy exploration shows confidence. Faith’s spinkler fun shows she has all the right stuff including the person who is raising her! Not to mention that cute factor that’s really working for her.
