My issue would be go someplace where I can leave my dogs at home.

I train dogs, so I am surrounded by dogs, all day, every day.

I took my Lab pup to the field today for the first time in three weeks since a little mishap that left her lame (and out of training) for a while.

We were accompanied by a client dog who is also aspiring to be a bona fide reetreever.

I am exhausted. They on the other hand, would like more bumpers and birds. And water.

I would like a nap.

The challenges of working at home with one's canine companion (in my case, a fax-attacking Sheltie) got me started writing about dogs in the first place. My current office dog will pretty much snooze until around 4 p.m., when she lets me know in no uncertain terms that the work day needs to finish. Now.

Well, for the Dot, it's just another day of the week hangin' on the couch with me while I work away on the computer. I really prefer her to bosses and co workers, especially when my main computer decides to go on the frizt. She hasn't asked me once where I'm at on that project! We'll worry about it next week, won't we Dot? :)

The cats, as usual, are clueless and blissfully sleeping away totally unaware how hard the Dot and I are working in the other room! {grin}

Yes, my Frenchie is at work with me today. ;-)
He's played with a Pug, a sweet Pittie boy, a mix, a Retriever and had zero interest in the Westie. And, he refuses to poop today, so he's been gassing all his visitors. I think this is one of my favorite holidays ever.

Niki, the collie boy, "walks me to work" most mornings. This involves, at the most, 20 feet from the living room to the studio. But I've come to realize that even a little thing like this gives him job to do and he's very pleased to have gotten mom to work safely. He seems to take it pretty seriously.

Then he flops down outside in front of the door, so I can't get back out without him noticing, I guess. :0).

Sometimes in the afternoon he'll come in and hang out, but it's usually when I'm not painting. I suspect he doesn't care for the oil paint fumes, even though I have an expensive hi-tech VOC filter going most of the time.

There's usually a cat or two around, too. Oh, look, there's one on my drawing table Right Now!

Yeah, I was pretty ticked off, especially since I can, with 99% certainty, tell you who complained. And this particular person has 5 whirling dervish grandchildren who regularly pop into the office, scream, cry, touch things they shouldn't....but I'll shut up now.
