		<description>Good job, Archer!  That is a great article - this is what doing pet therapy is all about.  Mostly it is just the little joys and triumphs of being able to reach people in a special way.

And if the dog has the correct temperament for this sort of work, they DO love it so!!  The pet therapy group I used to work with had special collars and leads the dogs wore.    Although of course whenever you take one dog somewhere, the others want to go too but they resign themselves to staying home - I found that when I put that special collar and lead on one of the dogs the others would really go crazy, they wanted to go SO BADLY.  
When I had more than one dog certified for visits, I had to keep those collars and leads in the car!</description>

I would imagine that besides needing a spectacular dog, the handler needs to be of a certain temperment as well. It sounds like a very emotional job.</description>
