Um, judging by the sign, I’m not getting a “good ol’boy” vibe from this place.
Pretty clear whoever put up the sign is calling MV on being an evil scum bag.
The whole saga, there has been this under tone of “ooh, it’s cultural, you are picking on him because he’s black and you don’t understand gangsta culture” yada yada yada. Naw, he got in deep excrement and engendered a lot of hate because he was a torturing sadist.
Erm. According to the website JenniferJ links, it’s a bar, not a country club … and judging from the photos of the other signs they’ve put up over the years … I’m not at all sure these are folks I’d want to spend much time around. I’m not certain, mind, but that’s because I’m old enough to have run into a number of decent people who didn’t practice the racist, sexist, reactionary crud they spouted when they’d had a few.
I have no knowledge of any of their previous signs to cloud my interpretation of this one; it gets a big thumbs up from me.
I just cannot see any racist overtones at all.
Pleasant thought.
Somehow still not enough for him though.

I hadn’t scrolled down all the way, and decided that I like the club’s LOGO very well before getting to the text.
Win. Win.

Very nice to see that time hasn’t mellowed feelings about this, or that everyone’s just moved on.

Given what I’ve heard about alligators in Florida, I’d say that that is definitely a “reality-based” logo. But what do they really think?

Full of win!

My only reservation… Country clubs and racism…
I should really just keep my mouth shut. I don’t know anything about this particular place, but it popped into my head.

They have a member’s only golf course, but I imagine the bar/restaurant is public.
I don’t excuse dog fighting under any circumstances, don’t get me wrong.
But based on their other signs…. ew. I know it gets them attention, but…. ewwww. Some of the words used are triggers for my internal alert system.

Nope, I don’t agree with many of the other sentiments from previous signs.
But this one, yes, I like it.
And for just a funny, stand alone picture with a great sentiment, I love it.
Probably would not go to the bar, but this sign? Good and fun.
