The relatives are here for the weekend

May 24, 2009

No, no not mine … my dog’s!

Sisters Sprint and McKenzie.  Sprinty is visiting from Southern California to see her nieces and nephews and run in a few agility trials.  The only relatives who’ll never gossip, criticize or complain: Canine ones!

  1. Run fast, run clean Sprintie and T Rod! Are you picking a future teammate and USDAA contender?

  2. T-Rod is indeed thinking of a puppy … but she’s looking at a lot of different litters. To compete in agility at her level takes a very special dog.

  4. ps: I know somewhat about the sport but am not in T-Rod’s league. I only had Front & Finish’s number 1 toy dog in Agility for 2 years running. He went on to earn his MAD, MX & MXJ, the 3rd dog of his breed to ever earn those titles before I retired him due to his epilepsy. Though it’s been 5 years now since we competed, I still grab brags for him wherever I can!
He is the product of a BYB, by the way. Epilepsy is not openly discussed in my breed. People don’t like to admit to it, and although it is much more common among mill & byb dogs, it does appear every so often in well bred lines. I retired him because acupuncture, diet and supplements no longer controlled his seizures well, and he required medication (KBr) which left him somewhat clumsy. Titles weren’t worth an injury.
