Unless Ilario decides that more subjects to rule over has its advantages. Our cats find the dog handy for running interference with other cats, which he's happy to do. Anything for the kitteh herd.

Our niece brought her two Chow mix pups over to our house that is owned by our adopted stray all white now 4 year old cat Blanchita. Now it was just a visit, but the cat didn't think so, and rushed outside and hid under the car. She stayed there even after the pups left. She clearly was trying to decide if she was leaving or not because she WAS NOT going to share with these two Chows, period. We had to coach her out and back into her home.

So, as much as the pup is wanted, Ilario has a say too. Most will get along well eventually, but not always. And when there is a dominant queen or king of the house, that usurper isn't going to be welcome.

Poor Ilario. I'd like to officially invite him to my house. Clara too. They could both use a vacation from the puppies.

I really do think Ilario thinks you've lost your mind though. It looks to me like he's looking at the puppies wondering what's so special about them, why they cause you to behave so strangely, and of course, why they get more food than he does?

Accept it. You can test and evaluate and collate the results and consult with as many experts as you want — you do not choose.

Don’t even try to fight the Power of the Puppy.

In fact, there is a puppy like that who is pretty determined to stay here. We will see.

Accept it. You can test and evaluate and collate the results and consult with as many experts as you want -- you do not choose.

I can give you all the logical, compelling reasons why we kept Moe five years ago and Rosie two years ago.

Truth is, Moe declared himself my dog when he was four or five weeks old, and arranged it so that he would never leave. (I believe he's the one who put the mind-meld on us in our sleep and got us to buy the quarter-million-dollar dog toy, too.)

And Rosie was chosen as the Crown Princess and Successor to the Scepter by her mother at the same age.

Don't even try to fight the Power of the Puppy.

I think Ilario is also saying:

This whole puppy business is troubling to me.

Mommy, can't you just make them go away?

(Beautiful picture of a handsome cat!).

I think the expression looks more like he thinks his life, as he knows it, is over. Poor Ilario, it will be OK, maybe in about 4 years. What I'd really like to read about is EXACTLY what is mom doing to make it up to Ilario? New toys, hand-made from Sweden? Filet mignon or even better, king salmon flown in fresh from AK? Come on meowmie, where's the bribe and make-up loot?

Not yet. Mary (co-owner) and Katie (stud dog owner) are arriving in three weeks, and we'll temperament and ability test them all, and then start matching them up with their homes.

And between now and then, Susan and Dr. Rolan Tripp are going to visit and evaluate (Friday) as is my friend Teresa, who owns and runs McKenzie's sister Sprint, The Fastest Agility Dog in the World. (T-Rod *may* take one, if there's a suitable agility prospect.)

And additional evaluators as well.

Yesterday, my niece and nephew picked their favorites: Steven liked Ms. Purple, and Kate liked Ms. Pink.

My own favorite seems to change every other day. :)
