The puppy watch: It won’t be long now

McKenzie’s due Friday, but it could be anytime. She’s a lot more relaxed than I am about what’s coming, that’s for sure (sniff! sniff! you can tell I’m having allergy problems when you listen to me):

Yup, big belly all right.
I noticed how carefully she sits down.
Such a sweet dog. I am glad she rescued that baby chicken that had escaped (on chicken moving is stressful for all).
Poor mom, she will have a lot of work to do, trying to keep the pups well-fed.

These pups should all be black, right?

She wants to know why you keep taking pictures of her tummy! :-)
Are you planning on doing the Battaglia Early Neurological Stimulation?

Yep.

Oh, she is such a pretty girl! I love seeing her in motion. I loved the jumping video you had of her awhile back. I suppose for now she is not very jumpy!

Gina, partner, grandmother (to the pups that is)…you’re like a human amphetamine you’re so excited! Teresa and I were in the grocery store today, walked by the popcorn and I thought of my comment to you the other day about McKenzie’s bulging, warm belly being “Jiffy Pup!” But instead of a dome-of- foil with un-popped kernals, McKenzie’s is a balloned hairy belly with almost fully popped pups. Alternately, we could call McKenzie a “Pup-corn popper” when she starts whelping this week. I’m being so corny, you would have thought I got in a trance in the vegetable section today. Seriously, all the best to you, all of you!

She is a sweetie, and I have to admit I am loving how quiet and easy-going she is now. She’s normally a bit of a live-wire. :)
Oh well, the house will soon be bursting with new energy.

Warm snuggly puppies! Its almost time! What is McKenzie making of all this?
Comment by 2CatMom — April 5, 2009 @ 6:24 pm
She pretty calm … but I’m sure that’ll be changing soon.
Comment by Gina Spadafori — April 5, 2009 @ 6:28 pm
Can’t McCutie wait until Passover on Wed. eve or even hold over to Easter Sunday.
Maybe it will be a Holy Thursday or a Good Friday, but I doubt it.

Gina, I love McPreggo’s sweet face and happy little tail wag when you praise her for sitting. Looks like she’s keeping her spirits up. Little does she know what’s ahead. Hard to imagine that you are getting any sleep right now with all the excitement.

This is so exciting! Is it time to boil water yet?
Comment by 2CatMom — April 6, 2009 @ 1:50 pm
Getting very close. She is very anxious and wants to nest everywhere.
Comment by Gina Spadafori — April 6, 2009 @ 2:01 pm
Here … waiting … to hear!
:)

Along with the boiled water, we will need clean sheets. Do you have enough of those?
McCutie might decide to have the pups in the middle of the night—when you need your sleep most. For your sake, I hope it is during the day.
