It’s Elemental: Honda owes me, big time

My friend Bob, the ultramarathoner who is so kind as to take my retrievers with him on his training runs a couple times a week, finally read the writing on the (auto mechanic’s shop) wall: His ancient VW bus was at the end of the road. It has been in and out of the shop for a couple of years, and finally refused to pass the smog check.
This morning he pulled up in his new car, a 2006 Honda Element. And yes, it’s all my fault. I love the Element, and we named it the 2007 DogCars.com Best In Show DogCar of the Year. Since I got my first one to review and raved about it, I can count three friends who bought one, and about 20 readers.
Honda, you’re welcome.

Ironically, my wife and I have had “0” luck with Honda cars, having had 3 of them in the last 5 years. Maybe just a bad batch lol.

It happens. The only non-DogCar I’ve ever owned was a Toyota Corolla sedan. Bought it two-years used and it was the worst lemon ever.
Of course, a Corolla is year-in-and-year-out one of the most reliable and economical of cars. But this one must have come off the line ass backwards, because it was awful. I traded it in within five months.

I showed Bailey a picture of that car, and then had to promise her I’d never make her ride in such an ugly car.
She insists only a Mini is cute enough for her.

Bailey should wait for the plug-in Mini. It’s both cute enough and green enough for such a good girl!

Oh yes! I checked into test driving one, but that’s only available in LA and NYC. And for $850 a month.
