Art-full Cavaliers critique owner’s work

My husband, Jerry, dabbles in watercolors and has produced some very nice paintings. He hasn’t put brush to
canvas in quite a while, but a photograph he took in Spain a few years ago has inspired him to paint again. He began pulling out paintbrushes and looking through pieces done in workshops past. Among the ephemera, he found a corner from a completed painting. The late Darcy had chewed it off when it was left within her reach. Jerry had set it aside, in hopes of eventually repairing the painting (which is of New Mexico’s Bosque del Apache in winter).
He set it aside again, today, with the same thought. A few minutes later, he heard Harper munching on something but didn’t think anything of it. When he did check it out, it was too late. The corner was chewed into small bits.
I laughed as I suggested what Harper might say in her defense if she could talk: “Somebody named Darcy told me to do it. I don’t know who she is, but she sure knew a lot about you guys.”

I can only imagine how my DH would react if Allie chewed a corner of one of his paintings — much less if I laughed. Did Jerry laugh along with you???

He was the one who pointed out the humor in Harper finishing off what Darcy started.

I LOVE little Harper. She is the most wiggly-butt girl in the world. :)
