Vick report released: Watching pets killed was ‘funny’ to him

November 22, 2008

This man makes my stomach turn. There’s just nothing else to say. From the AP, as Michael Vick now faces state charges after serving his federal time:

Michael Vick put family pets in rings with pit bulls and thought it was funny watching the trained killers injure or kill the helpless dogs, a witness told federal investigators during the dogfighting investigation that brought Vick down.

In a 17-page report filed Aug. 28, 2008, by case agent James Knorr of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and released Friday under the Freedom of Information Act, a person identified as confidential witness No. 1 said Vick placed pets in the ring against pit bulls owned by “Bad Newz Kennels” at least twice and watched as the pit bulls “caused major injuries.”

The witness said Vick and co-defendants Purnell Peace and Quanis Phillips “thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs.”

What a sick, evil man. Hell can not be hot enough for Michael Vick.

  1. Well, if he makes it back into the NFL, maybe some pet-loving linebacker will take him out. I wonder how funny he’ll think it is when he’s taken off the field on a cart having sustained “major injuries”.

  2. Let’s hope that he does not make it back to the NFL and use the info to educate others just how bad, bad this.

Sad to still see these type of actions happening and how some people don’t see anything wrong with it.

  3. I saw on Yahoo today where some expletive deleted footballer, a Joey somebody or other, said in Vick’s defense about how it was only dogs, not people. Like that makes a difference
So, do your best to make sure your pet is not stolen out of your car or your back yard. Don’t delude yourself into thinking anything but being training BAIT for a dog fighting ring. Do your best to make sure it doesn’t happen!!!!

  4. Dog fighting is a disgusting subculture run by evil people. I wish the worst for Vic and all proponents of this vile practice.

  5. Can anyone find a link to to the actual report online?

  6. If the NFL takes him back …. a national boycott of all NFL advertisers will put a quick end to his comeback.

  8. Susan, it took a detour into the spam file … I liberated it. :)

  9. Susan, that’s the AP story. I’m looking for the USDA 17page report that is the basis for the story. I’m also curious who filed the FOIA request that resulted in its release.

    Comment by EmilyS — November 23, 2008 @ 9:43 am

  10. FOIA requests aren’t limited to the media. Contact the USDA public information office and request it:

    http://www.usda.gov/news/pubs/.....mation.pdf

    Information on the FOIA:

    http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/nsa/foia.html

Since the AP story is bylined (not a rewrite referencing another pub), I would guess (and it’s just a guess) that the AP filed the FOIA itself.

  11. I think it’s very likely the NFL will put Vick back to work. I hate to think of myself standing alongside PETA and the other phoney-baloneys who will call for a boycott in that case but there I’ll be.

  12. Oh absolutely they will! It’ll be: He has served his time, learned his lesson. How can we NOT welcome him back?

Yeah, I’ll be with you. If the NFL takes back Sick Vick, I’ll NEVER go to or watch the NFL again.

But then, let me tell you, a boycott by ME won’t exactly scare them. If I watch one pro game a year, that’s a lot for me. I haven’t watched the Super BoreBowl in years.

Now college football, I love. If only President Obama will get a real playoff going, and DUMP THE BCS.

  13. If they let him play again, I’m not sure a team is going to want him and his baggage (and his age n’ attitude!). Seahawks did a calendar this year with a rescue and a few players are also doing PSA’s with animals etc. I think NSAL is teamed up with the Jets. And who wants to take their kids to watch a dog killer play?

And yes, if he does play, I will be very vocal in my opposition. Especially because the only way he’ll be able any year soon would be a deal with the state. He won’t have done anywhere near the amount of time he should have for his crimes. As much as I hate who he is/what he’s done, if he receives proper sentencing and does his time, then he is ‘allowed’ to reenter the mainstream and try and build a new life (wouldn’t include football at that point unless off the field). That won’t happen in my mind unless he answers for each death and each act of cruelty. He shouldn’t even be allowed parole unless he can prove he’s no longer a danger to society.

I can’t tell you how much that AP article upset me. And I read some of the documents earlier! Sick.

  16. The dirtbag pled out on the state charges today. It’s said to be an effort speed his re-entry to the NFL.

What did I say? It’ll be nothing but “all is forgiven, he has done his time, rehabilitated, blah blah blah.”

Reform, my ass. If he could get away with it, he’d be laughing at the spectacle of turning trained fighting dogs onto golden retrievers tomorrow. And killing the fighters that weren’t “good enough” for him and his sick friends.

    What’s missing from his statement?

“I want to apologize to the court, my family and to all the kids who looked up to me as a role model,” Vick told the judge during today’s hearing, according to the Associated Press.

How about the DOGS, you evil bastard?

Hell is not hot enough for Michael Vick.
