Gratuitous cat-blogging: Gardening edition

November 16, 2008

It’s a very rare day when I spend almost no time at all on the computer, but this was one of those days. I made some real progress on all the chores that have been piling up in the last few weeks, when I’ve been away more weekends than home. Laundry, mostly, but other things, too.

Today I got the hens really settled in for rainy weather, cleaning out their little house and putting nice clean fresh bedding in. The day was perfect, so I found more things to do outside.

The pets “helped” me, mostly by watching. Clara e Ilario are inside cats, but I’ve found they won’t go over the fence if they’re out in the yard with me for short periods. And so it was today, when I got this really nice picture of Clara chilling on the patio.

She really has turned into the most lovely cat, in all ways.

  1. Isn’t this weather amazing? And kind of spooky in a global warming kind of way.

  2. Yeah, rub it in - we’re freezing here in Chicago. OK - I’m freezing cause the cats have spread themselves out over the heating vents! They’re toasty warm.

  3. That is a gorgeous picture! Half the time I wonder what my cat is thinking when I take her picture — always trying to avoid the flash.

Reminds me also of a cat I babysit, who will stay nearby and not go over the fence as long as you’re in the yard with him. Inside cat. The squirrels get really upset when he’s outside. Not that he’s ever caught one.
