More melamine mess … and funny wording

October 14, 2008

The words that get me in this recall notice: “… may be contaminated with melamine.”

“May be contaminated” happens when a worker makes a mistake and puts in the wrong ingredients, like nuts, or when a can of rat poison is accidentally knocked off the shelf into a vat.

What’s happening with melamine, as we saw in the pet-food recall and in every batch of poisoned crap from China since is a bunch of greed-heads intentionally adding plastic to game the system into higher protein readings, since plastic is cheaper than food.

This has been going on for a long, long time, and we’ve all got this crap in our systems. It only became news when the greed-heads pushed too far, and started killing — first pets by the thousands, then babies in their own country.

It’s not an accident, and China’s government has chosen to let the killing continue  … as has ours. Recall notices aren’t enough. We need to stop Chinese food imports until we can know for sure — through widespread testings and inspections — that they’ve cleaned up their act. We need to do this in conjunction with other countries around the world, and let China know we’ve had enough.

  1. It seems so obvious doesn’t it? Have the presidential candidates mentioned any of this?

  2. NO & don’t bother emailing the campaign websites. I did & the only response has been a lot of spam from both.

Looks like the melamine is showing up in the chicken feed now…and eggs…and who knows what else…

  5. I meant to include this in my post…

“We’re aware of melamine problems, but didn’t think about [possible contamination in] feed for chickens,” a Mitsui & Co. representative said. “Our risk judgment was insufficient”

  6. Unfortunately … if you go back to the days when the FDA was concerned enough to actually have media briefings, you’ll see that the melamine was in every darn thing imaginable, including hog feed, feed for fish farms and more.

Once some scum-bucket figures out how to game the system and up the protein reading by adding plastic, he isn’t isn’t going to stop with one product when there’s money to be make on all. And it seems like all of China was in on this big secret.
