Yes, I know, it doesn’t take much. But when a soldier comes home after 14 months and his dogs go absolutely nuts to see him, well … how can you not love it? Or dogs? (Thanks Patti.)

I know we’re not blogging much this week. Lot of behind the scenes stuff, book launching, article-finishing, chicken-winterizing, tax-finishing, gutters-falling-off-the-housing and more … and that’s just me. Another hunt test tomorrow. Wish us luck!

  1. “The fidelity of a dog is a precious gift demanding no less binding moral responsibilities than the friendship of a human being. The bond with a dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be.”

  7. What’s even better is that he clearly loves them as much as they love him. Crazy sweet.

  10. I’ve just seen what I know to be true of all dogs when they are treated with love, kindness and dignity. It also proves that not only is a nation grateful for the sacrifice this Marine made to go and serve his country in a foreign land, but also that his faithful four legged friends appreciated his sacrifice and homecoming as much as his family and friends.

Thank you for keeping us safe as our dogs do.

  11. A friend sent me this link today after hearing my two dogs are going to be put to sleep tomorrow, as if I wasn’t weepy enough.
Hopefully I will find another one (or two) in the not too distant future.
