Ruff week, but our Dr. Becker’s on the ‘Ultimate’ case

Yesterday I went home at lunch not feeling great, decided to go to bed instead of going back to work. Today, I called in sick. I’m sore all over, with a headache and a mild fever. [/whine]
It’s a good thing I’m not out promoting our new books this week, because I’d be, “Here are the new books. Now, can I go back to the hotel? I need to sleep.”
Instead, Dr. Becker’s doing that. Yesterday was “Good Morning America,” of course, and the rest of this week is national radio shows and a satellite media tour (Check those local listings: He might be on your local morning show tomorrow.)
The books moved up sharply in the Amazon rankings yesterday, hooray! Of course, the bar is set pretty high for our expectationsdreams: The first book Dr. Becker and I wrote together, “Why Do Dogs Drink Out of the Toilet?,” made the NYT best-seller list. Things are looking promising, though: Everyone who has seen them — and not just our mothers — loves them, and they’re already in their third printing, even though they just came out Oct. 1.
That and a large pot of hot tea will get me through the day.
Christie’s not doing so hot, either, but I’ll let her whine on her own. Kim’s healthy, but on her way to a conference. That girl loves to travel, which is something she and Dr. Becker have in common. Christie and I share the belief that there’s no place like home, which is easier for her to say, living as she does in San Francisco and me in the unglamorous stepsister of California, Sacramento.
Whatever, I have to get through this transitory health gick ASAP: We have another hunt test this weekend.

Woo-HOO!
