		<description>Over at PetHobbyist, I'm being deluged with emails and forwards of pleas for help by small shelters and rescue groups within a hundred miles of Gustav's strike zone.

And I realized how deeply scarred I still am by the gross mismanagement of Katrina on every level, from the federal government down to the big animal organizations like HSUS, because my reaction to all of them is skepticism.</description>
