That’s a GREAT picture of Christie. Hmmm … how come she is smiling at you when you are taking pictures of her and she usually has a look on her face that says “KT, *BUG OFF* NOW!” when I take pix …

My father also went to Mission High in SF, and I grew up in SF as a fourth generation San Franciscan. (‘06 earthquake stories told by older relatives were a staple of holiday dinners for years.) Now I live in the Sacramento area. It was an adjustment, but, though my heart is still in SF, I don’t really want that kind of urban life any more. You couldn’t bring the dogs to the river in SF! (I don’t think Ocean Beach would be as fun for them.)

When I visited California for a few days a year and a half ago, I found it hard to leave.

The weather is so pleasant, especially in wintertime, and the growing season so long, I could imagine shopping at the farmers’ markets all year long.

Better than shoveling huge drifts of snow in New England, I say.
