We interrupt our serious discussions for good news

August 26, 2008

Heather is (or rather, soon will be) fine.

Completely and utterly fine. More than fine, really, according to the radiologist. Her radiographs are bee-you-tee-ful, appearing much younger than she is.

The Big C? Not today. Not today.

Hooray for (almost) 12-year-old retrievers! She lives to swim another day … many a day, I hope, after she’s back on all four legs again after her soft tissue injury — a/k/a “a really bad sprain” — resolves itself.

Thank you all! Your support means so much to me.

  16. I am so happy about your good news!

Heather is a wonderful dog and obviously a great companion.

He says I am not really old by my biological stats—just don’t count the years, thats all.

You have supported us on the blog, so we all wanted to support you when you needed us. That is what friendship is all about, even though most of us do not see eachother.

  18. Hooray! Get that life jacket out cause its time for a swim. How long before she’s ready to hit the river again?

    Comment by 2CatMom — August 27, 2008 @ 7:28 am

  19. I’m going to try to play on my parent’s sympathies to get them to let her swim in their pool this weekend. (My dad is so fussy about his pool that he wants people to wear swimcaps to keep HUMAN hair out of the filter!)

River run will have to wait. It’s a long walk in to the river, and she will NOT take it easy. So the river … maybe a week and change.

I admit to being a paranoid mother myself, and I make no excuses for it; Far better to prepare for the worse, and hope for the best.
