Holistic care: Catch Dr. Becker today on ‘The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet’

August 18, 2008

{Updating to fix program time references … the show airs different times in different markets)

This morning, I’ll be recovering from anesthesia after a “medical screening procedure” that’s the only part of the Turning 50 Prize Package actually worse than the dreaded invitation to join the AARP.

Needless to say, I’d much rather be watching our Dr. Marty Becker on the Fox program, “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet.” I’ll have the TiVo set for later enjoyment, but you can watch it live.

Dr. Becker will be talking about alternatives to traditional Western veterinary practices, everything from acupuncture and chiropractic to hyrdro- and stem-cell therapies. Check your local listings.

Christie promises something good today … and I’ll be back Tuesday.

In the meantime, please keep sharing your ideas for saving money on pet care.

  1. Just a guess, but I think you’ll be feeling pretty crappy later today (snark).

As consolation (and commiseration) for turning 50, if you had my family’s history of breast and colin cancer, you could have started the two most enjoyable screenings (annual & 3 year plan)at age 30 like I did.

Anyway you look at it, it still beats finding a late stage cancer.

  4. Good for you, Gina! If it’s the procedure I think it is, don’t worry - tomorrow will be a piece o’ cake. (Sorry about the cake reference, you may be feeling a bit hungry right now!) But seriously, they will give you some WONDERFUL drugs and you won’t remember a thing about it! :-)

  5. Yep - the prep is more unpleasant than the test itself. And hopefully you got those nice little pills that work soooo well, rather than the gallons of yuck you used to have to drink.

    Good luck!
