Yesterday, 7/18/08, I took her for a check-up and her heart gave out. I was shocked, and still am. I had denied to myself all the obvious clues. My daughter rushed to the veterinary hospital, helped the attending vets with obtaining the right decision as to Brandy's future prognosis as they gave her oxygen to keep her alive, and then she finished up all the details. My husband and I had to go home early because we could not cope well. Many years ago when my daughter was a teenager, years before she was a veterinarian, my daughter had to go by herself to confirm that the cat that got killed was our cat. I tend to get hysterical and am useless. Today, the day after it happened, I came upon a gold star pillow at a yard sale, one of the two yard sales I attended. Brandy was dark yellow. I am taking it as a sign that she is now a star in heaven. Thank you, Gina, for giving me this opportunity to express my thoughts, for you block out very little but give so many the chance to express our hearts' thoughts.
