Gratuitous kitten blogging: Get the ladder edition

Yesterday morning when I walked out to take care of the hens, 4-month-old Ilario slipped out behind me and scampered up the eucalyptus tree in my yard. He got about 15 feet up and then decided maybe being up a tree wasn’t going to be as exciting as he imagined it would be. I took his picture, and then he came down rather gracelessly on his own, unharmed. Clara did the same thing at about the same age. It seems the bark of that tree is very appealing and makes a kitten want to dig in and climb up.

Cute cat + tree = great photo!

Priceless shot!
By the way, have you heard how Christie is doing?

I’m exhausted but the worst has passed! Thank you for asking!

Going up is easy for them—it is the coming down that takes a lot more effort. Illario is so adorable!

So glad to hear it, Christie.
Feel better.

Sooo cute!
I wish we had kittens in our trees… All we’ve got are a pack of fearless, nasty, hissing raccoons who appear to have made it their life’s goal to destroy our birdfeeders, deck and compost bin.
Maybe we need more dogs….
