My Golden, Allie, is definitely in GSD Lilly's corner. Every evening, when my hubby and I have a glass of wine before dinner, Allie plants herself in front of me, sits, stares at me and my wine glass, and begins to drool if I don't let her have a taste. Of course, I give in.

Honestly?
There's plenty of things I do even without alcoholic beverages that cause embarassment, confusion, or a wish to join in.
Most notably, when I start singing with the radio or humming(and honestly, I have a fair voice to human ears) one dog stares with her head cocked at an odd angle until I stop (which is sometimes 10+ minutes). Playing Wiitennis has, on more than one occasion, resulted in a ball dropped at my feet since I clearly need something to actually throw.

Hypothetically, (of course) inebriation would result in a hop on the couch (not technically allowed) for more attention, whether it's for playtime or lazy petting.

My first GSD, Lilly, totally got it.

She came to a home-brewing friend's Halloween party* as a six-month-old, and discovered -- gut Cherman hund that she was -- that the yeasty concoction that people were spilling was quite tasty, thanks.

Other guests thought this was hi-LAR-ious, and offered her sips. She was such a mannerly dog, we weren't really supervising her. Didn't occur to us that the dog was not the one who needed supervising.

Soon enough, my normally dour and painfully proper puppy was doing the dog equivalent of the lampshade dance. Leaping from chair to couch, rolling, snorting, stumbling ...

Ken took her outside and she peed for about five minutes, then staggered back in and passed out under the snack table.

After that her malted adventures were characterized by moderation, though she did get rather frisky at our wedding -- nothing inappropriate, just joined everyone on the dance floor.

*I was an elf. Ken was an orc. Lilly came as a baby warg.

Funny to think about! I think our cats really do wonder - they give us odd looks! And sometimes it seems as if they want to "get in on the fun" and get a little rowdy too!

If I really drink way too much I become a mean so they would say "who are you and what did you do with our mom?"

And let me state for the record that I never, ever drink way too much.

Again, purely hypothetically, that is exactly what Drew would do: Take advantage of the situation and go looking for unprotected food.
