Gratituous dog-blogging: Crescent City edition

The dogs are eating their dinner, and then I’m going to have a bite with organizer Nadine Long before the event tonight. She and her husband, Del Norte Library Director Russell Long, found us the most perfect place to stay, a simple, clean quiet older hotel within view and a short walk of the ocean. The breeze is coming off the ocean, and I can hear the harbor sounds and sea gulls. We’ve caught a perfect afternoon for the weather.
So close to the water, Heather has forgotten she’s 11-plus and is demanding some beach time. That’ll be tomorrow. Tonight she has to charm people. She’s more than capable, I know, but in case she need encouragement, I’m bringing dog cookies.

Glad you’re settled in in Crescent City and looking forward to the event tomorrow!

Just pulled in. The event in Arcata was great fun, too, but that’s a hecka long drive home, pretty scenery or no!
I’ll have more in the morning. Was so glad to see so many people turn up. The dogs and I sure had fun, but it’s GOOD to be home.
