Traveling with dogs is all about the Elements

Gina was almost giddy yesterday when she called to report that she’s preparing to embark (excuse the pun) on a dog-related road trip to the Flat-Coated Retriever National Specialty in Oregon. But the best part is that she’s arranged to drive a Honda Element, recently named 2007 Best In Show DogCar of the Year.
She’s rounding up her four retrievers — puppy Otter, McKenzie, Woody and Queen Heather — into the Element along with a stack of Best In Show DogCar of the Year stickers to give to anyone at the show who is driving an Element.
Then on the return trip, Gina and PetConnection colleague Christie Keith will be featured speakers at a special event at the Del Norte Country Library. Here are the details:
An Evening for Pet Lovers
On Saturday, April 12, at the Del Norte County Library, beginning at 7 p.m.The evening, sponsored by the Del Norte County Library and the Del Norte Literary Coalition, will bring rare, personal appearances by two of the most authoritative and entertaining pet writers working today: Gina Spadafori and Christie Keith.
Gina and Christie will make lively and informative presentations, offer for sale and autograph Gina’s books with additional participation from the Del Norte County Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of Del Norte.
You can view complete details of this unique and free event in the attached brochure that you may also download and print.
However, the superstar authors will have to share the spotlight with the Honda Element. Event organizer Nadine Long reports that the Element will have a special parking space under the lights for all to admire its award-winning DogCar attributes.
Here’s wishing safe travels to all!
