Sunday morning I was driving to pick up my daughter from her friend’s house and as I headed up the highway, in a time span of just 30 seconds, I saw four, count ‘em four Honda Elements going the opposite direction.

That’s the same Honda Element that DogCars.com recently named as DogCar of the Year (or Best in Show, as it were) for 2007. As I saw those boxy babies drive by, I found myself wondering if the owners of those vehicles knew that they were driving the perfect DogCar.

Surely, I reasoned, many of the Element owners on the road today have dogs. But do they know they own the best DogCar of 2007? Probably not.

I wanted to chase them down to tell them about this little fact. I wanted to congratulate them for owning the DogCar of the Year. But then I asked myself what good would it do? After all, they already own the car. And if I stopped to talk to the Element owner, would he or she then feel obligated to tell me about their dog-related experiences with the Element? And then I would want to share some of my experiences. And then . . . hey, don’t I have to be somewhere? Oh yeah, my daughter!!

So I decided against it. But I still wondered if there was some way to promote the Element’s good fortune to be named DogCar of the Year.

Thanks to a suggestion from faithful readers, we now have the answer: A special “Best In Show” sticker has been produced for DogCars.com and is available for all Honda Element owners who want to proudly display it on their vehicle. Here’s how to order one for your car.
