Honda, the automaker that knows how to build great cars, also knows how to market to a great audience — Dog Lovers!
As soon as DogCars.com announced that the Honda Element was picked as the DogCar of the Year for 2007, the marketing folks at Honda kicked into action to take advantage of this prestigious honor.
In the business, they call it “Getting some traction” out of the award.
You see, Honda wasn’t really expecting to win this four-legged honor, so all of its advertising was geared toward a younger set — those 20-somethings who go everywhere and do everything. But what they didn’t realize is that they designed the perfect DogCar, one that can now be found going everywhere and doing everything with a load of pups in the easy-to-clean back area.
So now that the Element has been crowned Best in Show by DogCars.com, Honda is rising to the occasion by creating ads that are geared toward us canine lovers.
There’s a TV commercial on YouTube, check it out, it’s pretty cute.
