What I’m driving this week: A Honda Element and a new book deal

January 21, 2008

The book announcement first:

New York Times best-selling authors Dr. Marty Becker (of  “Good Morning America”) [our Dr. Becker] and Gina Spadafori  [that's me!] are working on a new book series for the publisher of the “Chicken Soup” books. Looking for writers (you don’t have to be a professional, or even published before) with inspirational stories on dogs, cats and horses. Also looking for great photographs. Payment for all published submissions. Deadline for submissions is March 15, with the books coming out in the fall.

Go to the UltimatePetLover.com for information on how to get stories and pictures in the books.

We want to see a lot of great pictures and stories from pet-lovers, so get busy!

Honda Element SCThis week I’m driving the 2008 version of our 2007 DogCar of the Year, the Honda Element. Specifically, I’m driving the SC with a manual transmission. It’s still an unbeatable DogCar, with lots of storage, good fuel economy, nimble handing and it’s easy to park, too.

The SC comes in my favorite car color ever, a sparkly root beer, and has a center console that makes a long drive more comfortable. Unfortunately, that console sticks out behind the front seats, reducing your cargo capacity and configurations.

More when I get the full review written.
