My clothes? What’s wrong with my clothes?

DogCars.comThe new washing machine (see previous) will be delivered on the 25th (it’s the only day I can be here for an entire “delivery window”). In the mean time, I have dirty clothes.

Yesterday I took them out to be washed, dried and folded. (That is so cool — clothes go away dirty and come back clean and folded. Swoon.) And when I picked them up, the woman at the counter said, “You must have a lot of pets.”

Now, why would she say that?

Could it be that a good half of all my shirts, polos, sweats and so on have some kind of pet-related/vet-related picture or slogan? (Or could it be the pet hair they had to clean out of the dryer filters?)

And in other pet-related appliance news, I laughed at Nancy’s admission over on the A Dog’s Life blog that she bought a vacuum because the company put a dog on the label. The laughter was in self-recognition; after all, I drive a Dyson Animal.

Shameless self-promotion: You, too, can dress like the pet-obsessed. Logo gear at our store, including the UniversityofWoof/UniversityofMeow “My pet’s a genius” gear, which I wear a lot. Just don’t wear it in Sacramento. We fashionistas hate it when other people show up wearing the same designer.

  1. Yeah, I see myself in this post. Any Urban Outfitter’s baby-doll T with an animal on it has my name on it—especially when if it’s in the bargain barrel. Coupled with jeans, heels and a sporty jacket that’s this fashionista’s wardrobe staple. But the animal hair (dog, cat and goat) and the scrub tops are more likely the dead giveaway.

  2. During my divorce, my attorney said that it might actually work in my favor - the fact that I belonged to the Parent Breed Club (something he’d never heard of - “A CLUB for DOGS?”) and my habit of wearing clothing with dog images on it to our various meetings (not to court - just to meetings! LOL!) If ownership of the dog had been contested (which it wasn’t, thank goodness!), I was VISUALLY identifiable as being very dog-oriented!

  3. hey, here’s an idea: they should name cars after dogs!
They’ve about used up all the other animals….

  4. I like Emily’s idea - you could have the Mercury Mutt, the Dodge Dalmation, the Buick Beagle, the Subaru Setter……

On clothes - I only have one piece of cat clothes - a sweater but it has BIG KITTIES all over it. I love answering folks who ask “do you like cat’s?” with “why would you ask me that?.”

Ok I lied - I just remembered that I do have some cat socks and a pair of cat pjs!
