Probably. But I sure need a lift after checking my e-mail and finding an invitation to a fund-raiser for mandatory spay-neuter advocate California state Assemblyman Lloyd Levine.
Um, no thanks. I could not be less enthusiastic about seeing this man back in Sacramento.
Anyway … a few years back there was a Web site with “doggy Christmas carols.” It was cute, and I wrote about it and promptly forgot about it. I’m like that. The owner of the site dropped me a note to say it has been updated with new carols.
This one’s for you, McKenzie, my “ball four” cutie:

There are dog toys
That bring great joys
Tucked away ‘neath the tree
But we only want one thing this Christmas

Just imagine our glee
When on every couch cushion we see

Here’s one I wrote a number of years ago:
“Will We Ever Get Our CDX?”
(Sung to the tune of Winter Wonderland)
In the ring, are you listenin’
See that white dumbbell glistenin’?
Your heeling was grand,
You dropped on command,
But will we ever get our CDX?
“Hey Mom, look! See that popcorn?”
“Listen, Mom, hear that loud horn?”
Distractions abound,
My pup runs around.
And will we ever get our CDX?
In the Open ring I spend my money!
Entry fees just vanish in the air!
And what’s worse, the crowd just finds it funny.
Watching as you clown without a care!
“Take that jump!”
That’s a good dog!
“Come to Front!”
That’s a GREAT dog!
Will this be the day you go all the way?
And will we ever get our CDX?
Time and time again I throw the dumbbell.
Time and time again you watch it land,
Maybe you’re expecting ME to fetch it!
Aha! At last! I’ve figured out your plan!
Am I nuts to pursue this?
Why do I want to do this?
The answer I see
Is A-gil-i-ty!
Because we’ll never get our CDX!
(BIG FINISH)
BE-CAUSE WE’LL NE-VER
GET OUR C-D-X!!!!!
