The puppy ate my book contract … honest!

So I’m blogging away, and I have this feeling that things are just too quiet. Get up, go look for trouble — and find it. Some idiot (um, that would be me) left the FedEx package with the new book contracts in front of the door so she wouldn’t forget them when leaving the house.
Some puppy (that would be Otter) added her “signature” to them. Fortunately, it was just the cover letter and a little gnawing on the corner. I think they’ll be OK, and I’m off to FedEx them now.
Maybe she thought we deserved bigger advances?

Does this fall under the same category as “But the dog ate my homework?”

Yep.

Or, as in the case of Congo, the New Jersey GSD, you will recall that the Animal Control Officer claimed the stray in the cab of the truck ate the report on the purported attack by Congo on a gardener who entered the premises after being told not to.
Personally, Gina, I think this is Otter’s way of saying, “Why work when you can be playing with ME?”

uh, Gina, don’tcha know that you were supposed to take a pic with said puppy caught in act? with such a common excuse, i would think that you of all people would go for the ultimate proof! ;)
i bet she’s awfully cute when she’s being ‘bad’!

“Understands the difference (for the most part) between dog toys and human belongings;” was written just a couple of hours earlier. Aren’t you glad you included the “for the most part”? ;)

You bet. But I have long thought one of the best things our pets do for us is keep up honest and humble. And smiling, of course.

“Just too quiet.” being the catch phrase for me here! The most naughty things happen around my place when sudden silence descends!! Silence is never really a good thing! Don’t you know that that’s why puppies were made cute? So you will forgive them for all the destruction that occurs while they’re growing up. Heck, not only forgive, but manage to laugh!
