In an interesting combination of pet-friendly partners, the Humane Society of the United States is joining paws with Mazda North America and MUTTS comic creator Patrick McDonnell by holding an online auction to help support the HSUS.

The auction, which ends at midnight (ET) on Dec. 11, features a few key items from the 2007 SPEED World Challenge Touring series, such as driver’s suits sporting Mutts logos on the back and a HSUS logo on the sleeve. These suits were actually worn by the driver’s during the season (and have been dry-cleaned since).

All proceeds from the auction go to support the Humane Society of the United States.

In keeping with the racing theme, our review of the 2007 Acura MDX points out that the styling and performance are a hit with at least one professional race car driver. But the MDX falls short of making the grade as a true dog car because the back seats don’t fold completely flat. Check out all the ratings on the vehicle reviews page.
