Tape measure, sure, but how about comfort?

November 27, 2007

When I review vehicles for our DogCars.com Web site, I have them for a week. That gives me ample time to see how the seats fold down, how much of a gap is between folded seats (don’t want to lose a small dog, or have a larger one get a leg caught!), how much room there is for crates and whether or not the back is too rounded, making it harder to fit crates in.

And, of course, I let my dogs ride in them. (Usually after I throw down a bedspread to protect the upholstery.)

But what if you’re going to a dealer? They’ll certainly let you put down the seats, measure the cargo area, but they’re not likely to let you “dog-test” the vehicle.

Over on the DogCars.com blog, Keith Turner writes about how one dog-lover solved the problem — creatively!
