Greening up your pet: It’s not hard at all!

November 27, 2007

Yeah, it’s true: We’re in cahoots.

Christie wanted to mention rabbits in her upcoming column on SFGate.com on reducing the carbon pawprint of pets. But she had so much to write about she didn’t have room for more than a passing mention.

I love rabbits. I adopted one a few years back and have loved having the long-ears around. They’re great pets!   Christie, who can’t have a rabbit as long as Miss Kyrie Borzoi is alive, called and asked if I’d blog about rabbits as green pets so she could link over.

Hey, any chance to help a bunny get a home, I say!

So it is that I have a cameo appearance in Christie’s latest Your Whole Pet column, on reducing the environmental impact of pets:

An overwhelming sense of guilt may have been the biggest thing you got from my previous column on the environmental impact of owning pets. But there are many steps you can take, from easier to the more difficult, to reduce the carbon pawprint of your companion animals.

Yeah, we all have to work through the guilt first. After all, Christie and I were both raised Catholic and schooled by nuns through our formative years. It’s probably one of the many reasons why we’re such good friends.

But read on. Great stuff that will help you take action. Every little bit helps!
