Gratuitous champion dog-blogging

I interrupt my house-cleaning, laundry, litter-box scrubbing, bird-cage-cleaning day of hell for an extremely important announcement (to me, that is: The rest of you just have to remember that I get to blog here, so I will!).
To wit:
Woody is now CHAMPION Zebulon’s Windy Tigertee JH. My friend Mary, his co-owner, finished his championship just a couple hours ago in Waco, TX. Hoorah! She’ll put his Senior Hunter title on him next and then he’ll be home for good in May. Even bigger Hoorah! for that, because I miss him so much.
Closer to home, young Pip, recently adopted from German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California, is making huge, huge strides forward with his minor separation anxiety, stress barking and general puppy foolishness. He now mostly understands that “nothing in life is free,” that Heather, age 11, doesn’t want to play with him, that all the toys belong to McKenzie and that Drew wishes he would just go away forever with all big, bouncy dogs. (Heather and Clara can stay, according to Drew.)
Pip is also a whiz at clicker-training. Smart, smart boy, but what would you expect from a shepherd-border collie cross?
The Empress Clara remains perfect in every way, as all cats are, just ask them.
I hate house-cleaning. But between Heather’s cancer-clean bill of health at the vet’s on Tuesday, Pip’s continued behavior improvement and Woody’s new championship … hey, it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Yip-Yip-Yippee!! Congratulations, Woody! And nice to see that you have titles on both ends. :)
High five from a “performance” family of tracking dogs (Shepherds).

Kudos!
I want to give a pitch for those doggles in the picture too. I thought those things were silly, but my mom bought my Dublin a pair and he wears them all the time in the car. He loves to stick his head out the window and I feel a lot safer, especially because we sand the roads here in CO, so a stray piece of gravel could really do some damage.
Now, he just has to figure out how to keep the wind from going up his nose. :c)

“The Empress Clara remains perfect in every way, as all cats are, just ask them.”
That is too funny. Cats really are perfect in every way, and exist in perfect awareness of their perfectness :) Your little family is truly heaven on earth and well worth the extra house cleaning!

Thanks! What would make Woody happiest about this, if he were capable of thinking it through, would be the realization that he never has to go to another dog show. Now it’s all the stuff he loves, life as a companion and working retriever.

Woo hoo and arooooo! As the mama of someone still chasing the last two darn points (for over a year now!) big congrats! My blue boy and I will be so happy when we never have to worry about ‘fluffy butt’ hairs sicking up again! And early woo hoo’s on the Senior Hunter title too (my dad just finished his Junior on his Brittaney!). Wish Woody was home so you could give him a congratulatory kiss!
