If I had a tiny dog i think I would prefer him in the inner-srung seat, nit direct contact with the car frame and in the most dangerous part of the car for a collision (sometimes called the 'suicide seat')

I wrote about this "concept car" a couple of years ago, and like most "concepts" it's just something to talk about. No, it's not useful for anyone with a dog bigger than 15 pounds (I doubt the TAIL of Christie's 130-pound Deerhound Rebel would fit in that shelf.)

BUT ... it IS truly interesting that Honda thought about dog-lovers enough to even attempt this concept. What that says to me is that auto-makers are aware of us, and will be looking to better serve our needs.

And for that ... huzzah!!!
