A doggie dashboard

I just got back from the L.A. Auto Show, where I was able to talk to carmakers about what they’re doing to address the needs of dog-lovers. Honda may have been ahead of the trend a couple years ago with concept car called the WOW that actually has a dog crate built into the front center console.
Check it all out on the Pet Connection’s DogCars.com Web site

My guess is that this feature wouldn’t really do Christie much good . . . . . . . . . . .

Does a ‘tiny dog shelf’ do anyone any good?

Well, those of us with tiny dogs might find it kinda’ handy!

I wrote about this “concept car” a couple of years ago, and like most “concepts” it’s just something to talk about. No, it’s not useful for anyone with a dog bigger than 15 pounds (I doubt the TAIL of Christie’s 130-pound Deerhound Rebel would fit in that shelf.)
BUT … it IS truly interesting that Honda thought about dog-lovers enough to even attempt this concept. What that says to me is that auto-makers are aware of us, and will be looking to better serve our needs.
And for that … huzzah!!!

If I had a tiny dog i think I would prefer him in the inner-srung seat, nit direct contact with the car frame and in the most dangerous part of the car for a collision (sometimes called the ‘suicide seat’)
