Never underestimate the chew-ability of a young, bored Shepherd. We had one that took down a fig tree cutting her teeth. The bc was partial to Italian leather!

He's pretty adorable, I'll give him that. And although he looks more shepherd than border collie, he sure acts very BC.

It's a great mix!

Forget the chair, do you see what a little showman Mr. Pippin is? Perfect posture, ears erect, dead stare into the lens. Front paws prone, back paws relaxed in that devil-may-care attitude. And the eyebrows of seduction in full force.

I see a future in print media for Pippin.

Once upon a time I had a townhouse with 4 floors. The bottom level house the garage, a huge laundry room, another roomy storage room. The you walked upstairs to the living levels. And stupid me, I put white wall-to-wall carpeting in it. [BAD, Lynn! Bad, BAD, Lynn!!!] So I called in a wrought iron gate specialist and had him design a special gate at the steps leading to upstairs. I figured if ever I had to be gone more than 4 hours I could put the kids on the garage level. Plenty of windows and lots of space to romp in. And it was all tile, so it would survive any accidents.

At the time I had 5 dogs and I'm afraid that Popcorn was a tad neurotic. The dogs were in their "playroom," as I came to call it and I came home and found that Popcorn managed to get his head between the bars and was licking the wallboard, trying to get out. [This dog would never become a scientist, for sure.] The wall had a 12" diameter hole that he had licked through. I got him out and he ran for the water bowl. This scared the you-know-what out of me so I grabbed him and rushed him to our vet, who pronounced him fine. But predicted he probably would be really thirsty for the next week!

That night the gate was latched permanently in an open position.

While we're laughing, now he may need to be watched to make sure he doesn't develop a blocked bowel from the foam rubber he probably swallowed. We have the same issue with our kitty and kleenex tissues that she loves to shred. In her case, we give her a large dose of Petromalt to help ease things through.
