The “dog days” of summer—late July and early August— derive their name from the star Sirius, the two-headed hound from Greek mythology who belonged to Orion. Thanks to everyone who sent me the anti-dog diatribe link from a major metropolitan daily. You know what would irritate that columnist most? To not respond. He gets paid to write like a shock jock. It’s his job. Getting hate mail makes him happy. Honest.
So save your typing for something that matters. He’s not it.

Absolutely, Gina. The first line in his bio says it all — “#### ##### is desperate for attention”
Why give it to him?
