Spoof story on statue ‘neutering’ makes the cut … for humor

July 31, 2007

OK, everyone, please quit sending us a link to this story about the apparent effort of animal-rights activists to “neuter” the statue of a service dog in Sacramento’s Capitol Park.

It’s a joke. A spoof. A satire. Honest.

Go to the Web site and check on “About Us.” (Actually, that’s always a good idea before you forward something along.)

On the other hand … the story does note that Sacramento is a “testicle-free zone.” The place is lousy with politicians, so … maybe there’s a ring of truth here, after all.

  2. If it didn’t sound like something “Human-Haters” would actually say, it wouldn’t have fooled so many people. Multiple people here at my office thought it was true, at least until they got to the “NADS” acronym. ROTFL!

Which made me think a little. Perhaps sometimes it’s good to take a step back and think, “Am I turning into a human parody? Do people’s eyes glaze as they back away from me at parties?” If people see me as a loony scold, that ain’t gonna help one bit. Too many competing doom-and-gloom causes out there these days.
