My laugh for the day (then I really have to work!)

In February, Dr. Marty and I went to Orlando for Global Pet Expo. Since our publisher, Peter Vegso, breeds and races thoroughbreds and knows what a racing fan I am, he invited us up to visit his horse farm in Ocala. What huge treat for me!
Peter and Anne Vegso’s charitable foundation sponsors Horses and the Handicapped of South Florida, a group that provides people with therapeutic riding opportunities. These groups are wonderful! To thank the Vegsos for their hospitality, I sent a donation to the group.
Today I got a thank-you note from Horses and the Handicapped:
Dear Ms. Spadafori:
On behalf of our challenged riders, Board of Directors and volunteers, we extend our sincere thanks for your donation of $100 in honor of Isaac Siegel’s Bar Mitvah. …
Sure, young Mr. Siegel, I’ll honor you, too! Congratulations! Today, you are a man!
You can donate in Isaac Siegal’s honor, Peter and Anne Vegso’s honor, or for any reason at all. Here’s information.
And don’t forget the Barbaro laminitis fund, and a couple of charities for retired racers, ReRun and United Pegasus. (Here are others, too.)

I volunteeered in a handicapped riding program for a while. Just AWESOME what some of those kids can do.
It’s a real “Take your breath away!” experience!

I donated my older horse to a therapeutic riding facility in S. Maryland when the arthritis in his hocks got just a little too bad for Eventing (he’s also an ex-race horse with Bold Ruler, Count Fleet, and Man-O-War in his pedigree!).
He loves his new job and they absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE him! That makes me so happy!

Trying to find the comment Gina posted about her niece and the barrel racing. Oh, but it is so much fun and just thinking about those quick legs clipping around makes my heart race. I had a quarter horse as a youngster and nothing could be finer than racing him around those barrels - wind in hair, horse in charge, muscle and determination and then you win! Yippie!
