I am not sure if you have heard or not or how widespread this is, but we were low-balled on our refund by Con Agra Peter Pan.

We contacted Con Agra at (800) 823-3709 according to an email from their Customer Service. The person who answered the phone was rude, curt, and unhelpful--and certainly not apologetic. I had to force her to send the remainder of the refund.

I have since heard and seen many other reports of Con Agra sending out the lowest refund amount regardless of the size of the jar/jar lid returned. Seems CRIMINAL to me!

I have all my postcards ready to go into the mail on Saturday. My Bailey Girl was taken from us and someone needs to care about this and do something about it! My "My Pet Counts" postcards include my Congress people too.

It appears that the Congressional Hearing of this morning is being rebroadcast on C-SPAN 2 right now, if anyone is interested.

Thank you for taking the time to liveblog! The only silver lining to this dog recall catastrophe is that I've switched my dogs over to natural, homemade dog food, and I think it will be better for them in the long run. I don't feed them anything commercial anymore.

It is unbelievable to me, that this can happen and that the FDA knowingly can not reveal where this rice protein concentrate ended up. There is still one company that we are waiting on to see if they come forth, knowing they have tainted grains in their pet food. What kind of government do we have, when they say their hands are tied. First Hurricane Katrina and now this. We need to bombard our congressmen to do something to change many government agencies. There needs to be stronger laws and investigations into the food that we get abroad. Every batch of both pet food ingredients and human ingredients should be tested for contaminants, bacteria and fungus. Why to we get these from China or any other foreign contry anyway. My heart aches for all those who have lost a beloved pet, and for all those people than are still unknowingly feeding posioned food to their pets. The elderly have no way of keeping up with the latest food recall, and the media is doing a very poor job of reporting this. I live in a major city, and have heard or read nothing in the last 2 weeks, but know that the recall has expanded quite a bit. The elderly can least afford to loose a pet both emotionally and finacially. What kind of government do we have. I am beginning to wonder. I am now using a home cooked receipe, and using a small amount of Innova. I pray that Innova is as trustworthy as they claim, getting no grains at all from foreign countries. They get vinison from New Zealand as many companies do. That is a little freightening also.

I just keep thinking -- "You've gotta watch what you wish for". We wanted to know -- now we KNOW what they've been hiding. Or, at least part of it.

My animals are getting skinnier by the day.
