I'm watching CNN right now listening to Dr. Werber (vet to the stars). This is the second time I've seen him on this network down-playing the numbers and the issue as a whole. So tell me...who is paying this Dr. to side with the FDA and manufacturers??? I'M FURIOUS!

Two teasers from FOX on the noon news about the pet food issue. They did an OK job, saying over 8,000 complaints and that the FDA isn't yet sure melamine is the cause of the problem. They didn't mention dry food though. One of the teasers mentioned the possibility of over 2,000 pets dead. Gee, wonder where that figure came from? ;-)

Gina and everyone else:

Check out the movie review here, especially the part about the government euthanasia center!!! The description at the beginning doesn't seem too far off, either. Remember the heat last summer? Soylent Green review:

Correction in Matt Lauer quote:

"....April Fools Day practical jokes having a spiritual origin, is plastic dog food one of them."

And so what's in human food, Dr. Sundlof?

Oh, yes I feel sooo much better...NOT!!! Glad we do most of our shopping at Whole Foods, but there's no iron-clad gurantee that everything they is always completely safe. Remember the organic spinach with e-coli?

I don't expect perfection, but I do believe things could be much better - more routine testing and willingness to to communicate problems to the public sooner would be a start.

Oh man Nadine what a movie reminder... makes me ill that any part of it is true in the pet world. (I was 11 when it came out, saw it once on a black and white tv, and can still see the images and feel the horror.)

Again I must ask, what else don't we know yet?

PLASTIC PET FOOD

Matt Lauer, in an interview about April Foods Day having a spiritual origin, just questioned if "plastic dog food" is one of them, as he pointed to the food on the table from the pet food segment. Rent the 1973 movie, "Soylent Green."

Oh and thanks thanks thanks for being here, staying on the story, and giving us the real poop. But tell Christie to type faster will ya! ;-)

My (not really) local news station top 3 stories at 11 AM: arrest of rapists preying on elderly mobile home residents, firey crash on interstate and a Tampa Bay Buccaneer arrested. OK, first 2 are absolutely correct - the 3rd? - who cares. When this was breaking news a week ago the FOX station played teasers all day long for their 5 pm news, probably putting people into a frenzy without giving any real info. They make me sick. Are you listening FOX? News is NOT entertainment. Same goes for CNN, which used to be a real news station ------years ago. Good gravy, news all day and you can't broadcast a whole press conference? Bah
