Gina honored at Global Pet Expo

No, Gina didn’t win at the racetrack on her recent trip to Florida, although she certainly spent enough time around racehorses to make her very, very happy.
We’re all very excited at Pet Connection to announce that Gina was recognized for Excellence in Pet Industry Journalism at Global Pet Expo last weekend. Our own Dr. Marty Becker received this award last year, the first year it was given.
The American Pet Products Manufacturers Association (APPMA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) are pleased to announce that Gina Spadafori has been named the 2007 recipient of the annual Excellence in Pet Industry Journalism Award. Gina was presented with the award at Global Pet Expo held in February in Orlando, Fla. [...]
“Gina has eloquently shared the joys of spending time with pets with millions of people worldwide,” said Bob Vetere, President of APPMA. “For that and all her contributions, she deserves to be commended. We are thrilled to have her as such an integral part of the pet industry.”
Global Pet Expo 2007 was held in Orlando, February 22-24 and is the pet industry’s largest annual trade show.

This is obviously Gina and Dr. Marty’s year, because their books Why Do Dogs Drink Out of the Toilet? and Do Cats Always Land on Their Feet? are finalists in ForeWord Magazine’s eighth annual Book of the Year Awards. Good luck, Gina and Marty! And congratulations, Gina!
I have long wanted to post here…and now I can’t find a better reason to do that. I have long admired Gina’s work, and I’m glad to see that she won the Excellence in Journalism Award. Congratulations, Gina.
